  1  1    Section 1.  Section 483A.24, subsection 12, Code Supplement
  1  2 2005, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    12.  The department may issue a permit, subject to
  1  4 conditions established by the department, which authorizes
  1  5 patients of a substance abuse facility, residents of health
  1  6 care facilities licensed under chapter 135C, tenants of elder
  1  7 group homes licensed under chapter 231B, tenants of assisted
  1  8 living program facilities licensed under chapter 231C,
  1  9 participants who attend adult day services programs licensed
  1 10 under chapter 231D, and persons cared for in juvenile shelter
  1 11 care homes as provided for in chapter 232 to fish without a
  1 12 license as a supervised group.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill allows persons who are tenants of elder group
  1 15 homes licensed under Code chapter 231B, or assisted living
  1 16 facilities licensed under Code chapter 231C, and participants
  1 17 who attend adult day services programs licensed under Code
  1 18 chapter 231D to fish as a supervised group, without fishing
  1 19 licenses, with a group permit issued by the department of
  1 20 natural resources.  Currently, such a permit is available only
  1 21 to residents of health care facilities licensed under Code
  1 22 chapter 135C and to persons cared for in juvenile shelter care
  1 23 homes as provided in Code chapter 232.
