As part of an appropriation from the environment 1 24 first fund to the department of agriculture and land 1 25 stewardship, $2 million was dedicated to support farmers 1 26 participating in conservation programs. The bill adds 1 27 provisions which require the department to use a portion of 1 28 this appropriation to reimburse commissioners of soil and 1 29 water conservation districts for administrative expenses, 1 30 including, but not limited to, travel expenses and technical 1 31 training. Similar language has been included in past bills 1 32 appropriating general fund moneys to the department (see 2000 1 33 Acts, ch. 1224, section 1, subsection 4). The bill requires 1 34 that the department reimburse the commissioners the designated 1 35 amounts within 10 days after the effective date of this bill. 2 1 The bill takes effect upon enactment. 2 2 LSB 1562HV 81 2 3 da:nh/sh/8
