Section 99B.6, subsection 1, paragraph h, Code 1 2 2005, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 h. No participant wins or loses more than a total offifty1 4 five hundred dollars or more consideration equivalent thereto 1 5 in one or more games or activities permitted by this section 1 6 at any time during any period of twenty=four consecutive hours 1 7 or over that entire period. For the purpose of this paragraph 1 8 a person wins the total amount at stake in any game, wager or 1 9 bet, regardless of any amount that person may have contributed 1 10 to the amount at stake. 1 11 Sec. 2. Section 99B.9, subsection 1, paragraph h, Code 1 12 2005, is amended to read as follows: 1 13 h. No participant wins or loses more than a total offifty1 14 five hundred dollars or other consideration equivalent thereto 1 15 in all games and activities at any one time during any period 1 16 of twenty=four consecutive hours or over that entire period. 1 17 For the purpose of this paragraph, a person wins the total 1 18 amount at stake in any game, wager or bet, regardless of any 1 19 amount that person may have contributed to the amount at 1 20 stake. 1 21 Sec. 3. Section 99B.12, subsection 1, paragraph g, Code 1 22 2005, is amended to read as follows: 1 23 g. For the purpose of this paragraph 1 28 a person wins the total amount at stake in any game, wager or 1 29 bet, regardless of any amount that person may have contributed 1 30 to the amount at stake. 1 31 EXPLANATION 1 32 This bill concerns dollar limits on permissible social 1 33 gambling between individuals or conducted at a public place or 1 34 premises with certain liquor control licenses. Social games 1 35 are described in Code section 99B.12 and include many card and 2 1 parlor games.
