  1  1           HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. ___
  1  2         BY  STRUYK, DANDEKAR, MERTZ, and LUKAN
  1  3 A Concurrent Resolution requesting the establishment
  1  4    of an interim study committee to study state
  1  5    expenditures related to economic growth.
  1  6    WHEREAS, a number of programs are currently in
  1  7 existence which are designed to foster economic growth
  1  8 in the state; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, the General Assembly has an interest in
  1 10 ensuring that money used in economic growth=related
  1 11 programs is used in the most efficient and effective
  1 12 manner possible; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 13    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
  1 14 SENATE CONCURRING, That the Legislative Council is
  1 15 requested to appoint an interim study committee to
  1 16 conduct a comprehensive study of all state
  1 17 expenditures related to economic growth with a direct
  1 18 impact on job creation or job retention; and
  1 19    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the interim study
  1 20 committee shall study the efficacy of each such
  1 21 economic growth=related program based on job creation
  1 22 and job retention; and
  1 23    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the interim study
  1 24 committee shall make recommendations to the General
  1 25 Assembly regarding methods to consolidate such
  1 26 economic growth=related programs, eliminate or reduce
  1 27 associated administrative costs, increase contact with
  1 28 users of the programs, and increase the availability
  1 29 of moneys under the programs.
