  1  3 A Resolution requesting authorization for the judicial
  1  4    district and judicial resources study committee to
  1  5    meet for an additional two years.
  1  6    WHEREAS, the judicial district and judicial
  1  7 resources study committee was established by the
  1  8 legislative council in June 2003 pursuant to
  1  9 legislative authorization; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, the thirty=one member study committee was
  1 11 charged to study judicial district and judicial
  1 12 election district redistricting, the allocation of
  1 13 judicial branch resources, and various specific issues
  1 14 relating to these topics; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, the study committee was authorized to hold
  1 16 six meetings during the 2003 legislative interim and
  1 17 met at the statehouse on October 7, November 12, and
  1 18 December 17, 2003; and
  1 19    WHEREAS, the study committee submitted a final
  1 20 report in January 2004, making recommendations on
  1 21 various issues related to the charge of the committee,
  1 22 including a recommendation that authorization be
  1 23 sought from the legislative council to allow the
  1 24 committee to continue to meet; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 25    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the legislative
  1 26 council is requested to authorize the extension of the
  1 27 judicial district and judicial resources study
  1 28 committee for an additional two years; and
  1 29    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the legislative
  1 30 council is requested to authorize up to three meeting
  2  1 days for each additional year the judicial district
  2  2 and judicial resources study committee is authorized
  2  3 to meet.
