Senate Resolution 130 PAG LIN 1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. ___ 1 2 BY DEARDEN and McKINLEY 1 3 A Resolution honoring Haley Dunn. 1 4 WHEREAS, Ms. Haley Dunn of Eddyville, Iowa, is an 1 5 accomplished skeet shooter, having won numerous medals 1 6 at the junior women's and women's levels in major 1 7 competitions held throughout this country and abroad; 1 8 and 1 9 WHEREAS, her championships include the Gold Medal 1 10 at the Junior Women's Skeet National Championships two 1 11 years in a row and the Silver Medal at the World Clay 1 12 Target Championships in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 2003; and 1 13 WHEREAS, Ms. Dunn has also placed in the top three 1 14 in recent international competitions in Granada, 1 15 Spain, Perth, Australia, and Lonato, Italy; and 1 16 WHEREAS, she is currently in second place in the 1 17 United States Olympic Games trials, down by only three 1 18 targets with 300 targets yet to shoot at the trials to 1 19 be held in late March in Fort Benning, Georgia; and 1 20 WHEREAS, Ms. Dunn was accepted as a resident 1 21 athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado 1 22 Springs, Colorado, where she is currently residing and 1 23 training; and 1 24 WHEREAS, her goal of competing in the Olympic Games 1 25 may soon be accomplished; NOW THEREFORE, 1 26 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate 1 27 congratulates Ms. Dunn on her significant 1 28 accomplishments to date and wishes her the best in the 1 29 upcoming competition to represent the United States in 1 30 the Olympic Games; and 2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of 2 2 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Ms. Haley 2 3 Dunn. 2 4 LSB 6897SS 80 2 5 rj/gg/14
