  1  1    Section 1.  Section 441.3, Code 2003, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  3    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  In lieu of appointment of an
  1  4 examining board, the conference board may designate itself as
  1  5 the body responsible for performing the duties of the
  1  6 examining board.  In that case, the words "conference board"
  1  7 shall be substituted for the words "examining board" where
  1  8 those words appear in this chapter and section 441.4 shall not
  1  9 apply.
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill allows a local conference board to designate
  1 12 itself as the body responsible for performing the duties of
  1 13 the examining board relating to local assessors.
