  1  1    Section 1.  Section 411.6, subsection 12, paragraph d, Code
  1  2 2003, is amended by striking the subsection.
  1  3                           EXPLANATION
  1  4    This bill strikes the provision under the statewide fire
  1  5 and police retirement system that a person receiving a pension
  1  6 under the system is ineligible to receive the annual
  1  7 readjustment of the person's pension unless the retiree had
  1  8 served at least 22 years and had reached at least age 55 at
  1  9 the time the person retired.  The bill provides that the
  1 10 annual readjustment applies to all retirees under the system.
