  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  99G.9A  INSTANT LOTTERY GAME
  1  2 PROVIDING AID FOR VETERANS.
  1  3    The chief executive officer, in consultation with the
  1  4 board, shall develop and conduct a new instant lottery game
  1  5 annually to provide moneys for the benefit of veterans and
  1  6 their spouses and dependents.  The moneys received from the
  1  7 sale of tickets for each instant lottery game shall be
  1  8 deposited in a special account in the lottery fund.
  1  9 Notwithstanding section 99G.39, after payment of the prizes
  1 10 and the deduction of moneys authorized pursuant to section
  1 11 99G.39, subsection 1, the remaining moneys shall be
  1 12 transferred to the veterans trust fund established pursuant to
  1 13 section 35A.13.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill provides that the chief executive officer of the
  1 16 lottery authority shall develop and conduct an annual instant
  1 17 lottery game for the benefit of veterans.  Moneys received
  1 18 from the game, less prizes and expenses, shall be deposited in
  1 19 the veterans trust fund, currently controlled by the
  1 20 commission of veterans affairs, for the benefit of veterans
  1 21 and their spouses and dependents.
