  1  1    Section 1.  Section 626.16, Code 2003, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    626.16  RECEIPT AND RETURN.
  1  4    Every An officer to whose hands an who receives execution
  1  5 may come shall give a receipt therefor for the execution, if
  1  6 required, stating the hour when the same execution was
  1  7 received, and shall make sufficient return thereof of the
  1  8 execution, together with the money collected, on or before the
  1  9 seventieth day from the date of its the issuance of the
  1 10 execution.  The period of limitation in this section shall not
  1 11 apply to a nonprofit corporation, as defined in section
  1 12 504A.2, subsection 8, that is a judgment creditor.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill exempts a nonprofit corporation that is a
  1 15 judgment creditor from the 70=day period of limitation for the
  1 16 return of an execution in garnishment.
