  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  558A.11  UNDEVELOPED LAND ==
  1  2 GEOTHERMAL ENERGY.
  1  3    Prior to initiating development of or transfer of
  1  4 undeveloped land, a landowner or transferor shall provide the
  1  5 developer or transferee with notice regarding the costs,
  1  6 benefits, and availability of incorporating the use of
  1  7 geothermal energy in development plans for the undeveloped
  1  8 land.
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill relates to notice regarding the use of geothermal
  1 11 energy in development plans for undeveloped land.
  1 12    The bill provides that, prior to initiating development of
  1 13 or transfer of undeveloped land, a landowner or transferor
  1 14 shall provide the developer or transferee with notice
  1 15 regarding the costs, benefits, and availability of
  1 16 incorporating the use of geothermal energy in development
  1 17 plans for the undeveloped land.
