  1  1    Section 1.  Section 483A.17, Code 2003, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    483A.17  TENURE OF LICENSE.
  1  4    Every license, except as otherwise provided in this
  1  5 chapter, is valid from the date issued to January 10 of the
  1  6 succeeding calendar year for which it is issued.  A license
  1  7 shall not be issued prior to December 15 for the subsequent
  1  8 calendar year.
  1  9    A nonresident hunting license, except for nonresident deer
  1 10 and turkey licenses, entitles the licensee to all of the
  1 11 privileges of a resident hunting license for two periods of
  1 12 five consecutive days as long as the two periods are separated
  1 13 by a period of at least five consecutive days.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill amends Code section 483A.17 to provide that
  1 16 nonresident hunting licenses, except for deer and turkey
  1 17 licenses, are valid for two periods of five consecutive days
  1 18 as long as the two five=day hunting periods are separated by a
  1 19 period of at least five consecutive days.
