  1  1    Section 1.  2002 Iowa Acts, Second Extraordinary Session,
  1  2 chapter 1003, section 54, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    SEC. 54.  TOURISM OPERATIONS.  There is appropriated from
  1  4 the community attraction and tourism fund created in section
  1  5 15F.204 to the department of economic development for the
  1  6 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003,
  1  7 the following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to
  1  8 be used for the purposes designated:
  1  9    For tourism operations, including salaries, support,
  1 10 maintenance, and miscellaneous purposes:
  1 11 .................................................. $  1,200,000
  1 12    Of the moneys appropriated under this section, $100,000
  1 13 shall be allocated to the Iowa Lewis and Clark bicentennial
  1 14 fund created in section 15.223.
  1 15    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 16 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
  1 17                           EXPLANATION
  1 18    This bill amends an appropriation to the department of
  1 19 economic development for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
  1 20 2002, for tourism operations.  The bill allocates $100,000 of
  1 21 the appropriation to the Iowa Lewis and Clark bicentennial
  1 22 fund.
  1 23    The bill takes effect upon enactment.
