  1  3 A Resolution congratulating the 2002=2003 Wartburg
  1  4    College Wrestling Team.
  1  5    WHEREAS, Iowans are justifiably proud of the
  1  6 Wartburg College Knights Wrestling Team of 2002=2003
  1  7 for winning its third NCAA Division III National
  1  8 Championship in the last seven years; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, the Wartburg College Knights Wrestling
  1 10 Team of 2002=2003 earned its third NCAA Division III
  1 11 Championship with a record=setting score by ten All=
  1 12 American team members; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, the Wartburg College Knights Wrestling
  1 14 Team of 2002=2003 set three NCAA Division III
  1 15 Championship records and tied a fourth record in
  1 16 achieving the championship; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, three Wartburg College Knights, senior
  1 18 Heath Ropp of Kalona, senior Wil Kelly of Dubuque, and
  1 19 senior LeRoy Gardner III of Golden Valley, Minnesota,
  1 20 won individual national crowns; and
  1 21    WHEREAS, head coach Jim Miller was named the 2003
  1 22 NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year; and
  1 23    WHEREAS, the Wartburg College Knights Wrestling
  1 24 Team of 2002=2003 won its eleventh straight Iowa
  1 25 Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Wrestling
  1 26 Championship; and
  1 27    WHEREAS, head coach Jim Miller was named the 2003
  1 28 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the
  1 29 Year for the seventh time; and
  1 30    WHEREAS, Wartburg College Knight junior Bart
  2  1 Mehlert, of La Porte City, was named Dick Walker
  2  2 Outstanding Wrestler at the Iowa Intercollegiate
  2  3 Athletic Conference wrestling meet; and
  2  4    WHEREAS, Bart Mehlert is the tenth Wartburg College
  2  5 wrestler to win the Dick Walker Outstanding Wrestler
  2  6 award, which is named after Wartburg College's former
  2  7 head coach; and
  2  8    WHEREAS, the Wartburg College Knights Wrestling
  2  9 Team was ranked number one in the nation for the
  2 10 entire wrestling season with a 22 and 1 overall dual
  2 11 record; and
  2 12    WHEREAS, the extraordinary success of the Wartburg
  2 13 College Knights Wrestling Team of 2002=2003 is a
  2 14 source of pride for all Iowans; NOW THEREFORE,
  2 15    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  2 16 That the House of Representatives congratulates the
  2 17 Wartburg College Knights Wrestling Team of 2002=2003
  2 18 and Coach Miller on the success of their 2002=2003
  2 19 wrestling season and wishes them continued success in
  2 20 all their future endeavors.
