  1  3 A Resolution honoring the city of Griswold on its
  1  4    quasquicentennial anniversary year and celebrating its
  1  5    122nd Annual Soldiers Reunion.
  1  6    WHEREAS, the city of Griswold proudly announces a
  1  7 joint celebration of its 125th birthday and its 122nd
  1  8 Annual Soldiers Reunion; and
  1  9    WHEREAS, the city of Griswold is located in the
  1 10 beautiful rolling hills of southwest Iowa and was
  1 11 named after the railroad director and prominent New
  1 12 York merchant, J. N. A. Griswold; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, the city of Griswold began as a crossroad
  1 14 of the C. B. and Q. Railroad and the Rock Island
  1 15 Railroad, and is still a crossroad of state highways
  1 16 92 and 48; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, the city of Griswold has made great
  1 18 improvements to its community with a beautiful new
  1 19 main street, city park, and community center; and
  1 20    WHEREAS, a celebration of the city's history and
  1 21 community pride will be held July 9th through July
  1 22 11th, 2004, and will include a parade, the dedication
  1 23 of a new American Legion Veterans Park, a street
  1 24 dance, and theatrical and musical performances; NOW
  1 25 THEREFORE,
  1 26    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  1 27 That the House of Representatives recognizes and
  1 28 extends its congratulations to the city of Griswold on
  1 29 the city's quasquicentennial year and for its 125
  1 30 years of service to its citizens and to the State of
  2  1 Iowa.
