  1  1    Section 1.  Section 483A.8, subsection 2, Code 2003, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    2.  The deer hunting license shall be accompanied by a tag
  1  4 designed to be used only once.  When a deer is taken, the deer
  1  5 shall be tagged and the tag shall be dated.  If the commission
  1  6 establishes a first regular gun deer hunting season and a
  1  7 second regular gun deer hunting season, a resident or
  1  8 nonresident hunting deer who is issued a deer hunting license
  1  9 for the first regular gun deer hunting season and does not
  1 10 take a deer during that season may use the deer hunting
  1 11 license and unused tag during the second regular gun deer
  1 12 hunting season to take an antlerless deer only.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill allows a resident or nonresident deer hunter, who
  1 15 does not take a deer during the first regular gun deer hunting
  1 16 season set by the natural resource commission, to use the deer
  1 17 hunting license and unused tag for the second regular gun deer
  1 18 hunting season to take an antlerless deer only.
