  1  1    Section 1.  Section 462B.8, Code 2003, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    462B.8  DESIGNATION.
  1  4    1.  The commission may adopt the management plan and may
  1  5 permanently designate the area into the protected water area
  1  6 system.  Upon the commission adopting the management plan and
  1  7 permanently designating the area as a protected water area,
  1  8 the commission may submit the management plan to the
  1  9 legislature general assembly for funding consideration.
  1 10    2.  The commission shall designate lake Macbride as a
  1 11 protected water area.
  1 12                           EXPLANATION
  1 13    This bill provides that the natural resource commission
  1 14 shall designate lake Macbride as a protected water area, which
  1 15 is defined as a water area permanently designated by the
  1 16 commission for inclusion in the protected water area system.
  1 17    A protected water area is required to have a management
  1 18 plan outlining the specific area to be protected, land use
  1 19 agreements with property owners, conservation easements and a
  1 20 specific design and layout of facilities.
