  1  1    Section 1.  Section 147.14, subsection 1, Code 2003, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    1.  For barbering, three members licensed to practice
  1  4 barbering, and two members who are not licensed to practice
  1  5 barbering and who shall represent the general public.  An
  1  6 individual who is licensed pursuant to chapter 157 to practice
  1  7 cosmetology shall not be eligible for membership on the board
  1  8 of barber examiners.  A quorum shall consist of a majority of
  1  9 the members of the board.
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill provides for a restriction concerning eligibility
  1 12 to serve as a member of the board of barber examiners.  The
  1 13 bill provides that an individual who is licensed pursuant to
  1 14 Code chapter 157 to practice cosmetology shall not be eligible
  1 15 for membership on the board of barber examiners.
