1 18 EXPLANATION
1 19 This bill establishes a limit on the number of eligible
1 20 electors that need to sign the nomination petition for a
1 21 candidate for an at=large seat or a seat which is voted for
1 22 only by the voters of a director district. Under current
1 23 Code, the petitions must be signed by at least 10 eligible

1 27 petitions must be signed by the greater of at least 10
1 28 eligible electors or a number of eligible electors equal in
1 29 number to not less than 1 percent of the registered voters of
1 30 the school district, but provides that this number need not be
1 31 more than 50.
