Section 125.75, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 1 2 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 Proceedings for the involuntary commitment or treatment of 1 4 a chronic substance abuser to a facility may be commenced by 1 5 the county attorney or an interested person at least eighteen 1 6 years of age by filing a verified application with the clerk 1 7 of the district court of the county where the respondent is 1 8 presently located or which is the respondent's place of 1 9 residence. The clerk or the clerk's designee shall assist the 1 10 applicant in completing the application. The application 1 11 shall: 1 12 Sec. 2. Section 229.6, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2003, 1 13 is amended to read as follows: 1 14 Proceedings for the involuntary hospitalization of an 1 15 individual may be commenced by any interested person at least 1 16 eighteen years of age by filing a verified application with 1 17 the clerk of the district court of the county where the 1 18 respondent is presently located, or which is the respondent's 1 19 place of residence. The clerk, or the clerk's designee, shall 1 20 assist the applicant in completing the application.
