  1  1    Section 1.  Section 232.188, Code 2003, is amended by
  1  2 adding the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  2A.  The role of a decategorization
  1  4 governance board is to provide a collaborative interagency and
  1  5 multidisciplinary planning process at the local level by
  1  6 operating with a broad=based membership.  Board membership
  1  7 shall include representatives of the agencies and individuals
  1  8 providing services or funding to address the needs of children
  1  9 in the county or counties, including but not limited to the
  1 10 department, local boards of health, local government
  1 11 officials, law enforcement, juvenile court services, school
  1 12 districts, service agencies, prevention programs, anticrime
  1 13 programs, and others identified by the board.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill relates to county programs for decategorization
  1 16 of child welfare funding by amending Code section 232.188 to
  1 17 require the program governance boards to include
  1 18 representatives of the individuals and agencies providing
  1 19 services or funding to address the needs of children.
  1 20    Representation is required to include these interests:  the
  1 21 department of human services, local boards of health, local
  1 22 government officials, law enforcement, juvenile court
  1 23 services, school districts, service agencies, prevention
  1 24 programs, anticrime programs, and others identified by the
  1 25 board.
