  1  1           HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.    
  1  2                  BY  PAULSEN and SWAIM
  1  3 A Concurrent Resolution honoring N. William Hines on
  1  4    his retirement as Dean of the University of Iowa
  1  5    College of Law.
  1  6    WHEREAS, N. William Hines is retiring as Dean of
  1  7 the University of Iowa College of Law on June 30,
  1  8 2004, after completing 28 years of service in that
  1  9 position; and
  1 10    WHEREAS, Dean Hines has served in that position
  1 11 longer than any other Dean of the Iowa College of Law
  1 12 and has served as Dean of the Iowa College of Law
  1 13 longer than any current dean of any other law school
  1 14 has served in that position; and
  1 15    WHEREAS, the length of his service as Dean is
  1 16 impressive, but not nearly as impressive as the
  1 17 enormous accomplishments of the Hines' deanship; and
  1 18    WHEREAS, the quality, diversity, and national
  1 19 visibility of the University of Iowa College of Law
  1 20 has been dramatically enhanced over the last 28 years,
  1 21 and during his deanship Dean Hines has devised,
  1 22 initiated, facilitated, or orchestrated these
  1 23 impressive beneficial developments; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 24    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
  1 25 SENATE CONCURRING, That the Iowa General Assembly pays
  1 26 tribute to Dean N. William Hines for his enormous
  1 27 contribution to legal education and the University of
  1 28 Iowa College of Law during his service as Dean and
  1 29 congratulates him for the many beneficial improvements
  1 30 to that institution during his tenure; and
  2  1    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
  2  2 Resolution be presented to Dean N. William Hines upon
  2  3 his retirement.
