  1  1           HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. ___
  1  2                       BY  CARROLL
  1  3 A Concurrent Resolution recognizing the seventy=fifth
  1  4    anniversary of the Iowa Medical Society Alliance.
  1  5    WHEREAS, the Iowa Medical Society Alliance has
  1  6 existed for 75 years as an organization of the spouses
  1  7 of physicians; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, throughout the organization's existence,
  1  9 the Alliance members have partnered with physicians to
  1 10 promote the good health of Iowans and support as a
  1 11 family those individuals involved with the practice of
  1 12 medicine; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, Alliance members have contributed to Iowa
  1 14 communities in many ways, promoting health education
  1 15 and sponsoring community service programs to answer
  1 16 local needs, advocating positive health=related
  1 17 legislation to provide better patient care for all
  1 18 citizens, raising funds for medical education, medical
  1 19 research, and local health initiatives, offering
  1 20 support and understanding for families of those
  1 21 involved with the practice of medicine, and partnering
  1 22 with the Iowa Medical Society to implement programs of
  1 23 advocacy for patients and to preserve quality health
  1 24 care for all Iowans; and
  1 25    WHEREAS, the Alliance is an innovative group of
  1 26 committed Iowans whose members continue to develop
  1 27 programs that answer the health needs of the members'
  1 28 communities; and
  1 29    WHEREAS, Alliance initiatives have been nationally
  1 30 recognized by being adopted by the American Medical
  2  1 Association Alliance as national programs; NOW
  2  2 THEREFORE,
  2  3    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
  2  4 SENATE CONCURRING, That the Iowa General Assembly
  2  5 recognizes the significant contributions to Iowa
  2  6 communities and physicians made over the past 75 years
  2  7 by the members of the Iowa Medical Society Alliance;
  2  8 and
  2  9    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Iowa General
  2 10 Assembly expresses the grateful appreciation of the
  2 11 state for the many contributions made by the Alliance
  2 12 and conveys best wishes on behalf of the citizens of
  2 13 Iowa that the Alliance continues to serve for many
  2 14 more years; and
  2 15    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon passage of this
  2 16 resolution, the Chief Clerk of the House of
  2 17 Representatives shall cause an official copy of the
  2 18 resolution to be provided to the Iowa Medical Society
  2 19 Alliance.
