House File 542 - Enrolled House File 542 AN ACT RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR INDIVIDUALS CLAIMING UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS IN CONSECUTIVE BENEFIT YEARS AND INCLUDING EFFECTIVE DATE PROVISIONS. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: Section 1. Section 96.4, subsection 4, paragraph c, Code 2017, is amended to read as follows: c. If the individual has drawn benefits in any benefit year, the individual must during or subsequent to that year, work in and be paid wages for insured work totaling at least two hundred fifty dollars eight times the individual’s weekly benefit amount , as a condition to receive benefits in the next
