  1  4 REVISING FAMILY INVESTMENT PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS FOR LIMITED
  1  5    BENEFIT PLANS.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  Section 239B.9, subsection 1, paragraph b,
  1 10 subparagraph (2), Code 2007, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    (2)  A limited benefit plan subsequent to a first limited
  1 12 benefit plan chosen by the same individual participant shall
  1 13 provide for a six=month specified period of ineligibility of
  1 14 six months or less beginning with the effective date of the
  1 15 limited benefit plan and continuing indefinitely following the
  1 16 six=month specified period until the individual participant
  1 17 completes significant contact with or action in regard to the
  1 18 JOBS program.  The department shall adopt rules defining the
  1 19 circumstances for which a particular period of ineligibility
  1 20 will be specified.
  1 21    Sec. 2.  Section 239B.9, subsection 4, paragraph b, Code
  1 22 2007, is amended to read as follows:
  1 23    b.  A participant who chooses a subsequent limited benefit
  1 24 plan may reconsider that choice at any time following the
  1 25 required period of ineligibility specified in accordance with
  1 26 subsection 1.
