<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><slim:Document xmlns:slim="urn:legix:slim" xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:atipl="http://www.arbortext.com/namespace/PageLayout" class="codeChapter" id="chp14A" name="14A"><slim:About class="header"><slim:Property type="string" name="version"/></slim:About><slim:TOC><slim:Item idref="sec14A.1" title="14A.1   Deputies."/><slim:Item idref="sec14A.2" title="14A.2   Deputy to qualify."/></slim:TOC><slim:Body><slim:Level class="codeChapter" id="chp14A"><slim:Heading class="heading"><xhtml:span class="identifier">14A</xhtml:span><xhtml:span class="headnote">DEPUTIES OF STATE OFFICERS</xhtml:span></slim:Heading><slim:Section class="codeSection" id="sec14A.1"><xhtml:div class="heading"><xhtml:span class="identifier">14A.1</xhtml:span><xhtml:span class="headnote">Deputies.</xhtml:span></xhtml:div><xhtml:p class="para">The secretary, auditor, treasurer of state, and secretary of agriculture may each appoint, in writing, any person, except one holding a state office, as deputy, for whose acts the appointing officer shall be responsible, and from whom the appointing officer shall require bond, which appointment and bond must be approved by the officer having the approval of the principal’s bond, and such appointment may be revoked in the same manner. The appointment and revocation shall be filed with and kept by the secretary of state.
