Senate File 2221 S-5213 Amend Senate File 2221 as follows: 1 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause and 2 inserting: 3 < Section 1. Section 256.146, Code 2026, is amended by adding 4 the following new subsections: 5 NEW SUBSECTION . 28. a. Adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A 6 establishing additional endorsements for instruction related 7 to all of the following high-need teaching areas in schools 8 providing instruction to students enrolled in prekindergarten 9 through grade twelve: 10 (1) Fine arts. 11 (2) Mathematics. 12 (3) Science. 13 b. The board shall not grant an applicant an endorsement 14 described in paragraph “a” unless the applicant holds a 15 bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 16 c. This subsection is repealed July 1, 2030. 17 NEW SUBSECTION . 29. Adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A 18 establishing an additional kindergarten through grade twelve 19 instructional strategist II endorsement that does not require 20 the applicant to possess a master’s or doctoral degree as a 21 condition of obtaining the endorsement. 22 NEW SUBSECTION . 30. Adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A 23 establishing an activities administration authorization. 24 The rules must require an applicant for the activities 25 administration authorization to hold a baccalaureate degree or 26 higher in any academic field. > 27 2.
