Senate File 2297 S-5150 Amend Senate File 2297 as follows: 1 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause and 2 inserting: 3 < Section 1. Section 97B.17, Code 2026, is amended by adding 4 the following new subsection: 5 NEW SUBSECTION . 6. The system may release the legal name 6 and city of last known address of a member or beneficiary to 7 the treasurer of state for purposes of assisting the system in 8 locating the member or beneficiary. 9 Sec. 2. Section 97B.18, Code 2026, is amended to read as 10 follows: 11 97B.18 Statement of accumulated credit. 12 After the expiration of each calendar year and prior to July 13 1 of the succeeding year , the system shall furnish each member 14 with a statement of the member’s accumulated contributions and 15 benefit credits accrued under this chapter up to the end of 16 that calendar year over the prior four quarters and additional 17 information the system deems useful to a member. The system 18 may furnish an estimate of the credits as of the projected 19 normal retirement date of the member under section 97B.45 . The 20 records of the system as shown by the statement as to the wages 21 of each individual member for a year and the periods of payment 22 shall be conclusive for the purpose of this chapter , except as 23 otherwise provided in this chapter . 24 Sec. 3. Section 97B.48, subsection 6, Code 2026, is amended 25 to read as follows: 26 6. Effective July 1, 2005, monthly Monthly retirement 27 allowance payments shall be directly deposited without charge 28 to a retired member’s account via electronic funds transfer. 29 A In lieu of electronic funds transfers, a retired member 30 may elect to receive monthly allowance payments in the form 31 of a reloadable payment card for which the system shall not 32 charge an administrative fee, or as paper warrants in lieu 33 of electronic funds transfers, but for which the system 34 shall charge an administrative fee for processing such paper 35 -1- SF 2297.3273 (1) 91 (amending this SF 2297 to CONFORM to HF 2345) sc/ns 1/ 2 #1.
warrants . However, the system may, for good cause shown, waive 1 the administrative fee. The fee may be automatically deducted 2 from the monthly retirement allowance before the warrant is 3 issued to the retired member. 4 Sec. 4. Section 411.5, subsection 6, Code 2026, is amended 5 by adding the following new paragraph: 6 NEW PARAGRAPH . d. The system may release the legal name 7 and city of last known address of a member or beneficiary to 8 the treasurer of state for purposes of assisting the system in 9 locating the member or beneficiary. 10 Sec. 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 11 importance, takes effect upon enactment. > 12 2.
