The board of directors of each school district and the 6 authorities in charge of each accredited nonpublic school shall 7 annually provide to the parent or guardian of each student 8 enrolled in kindergarten through grade six information about 9 the child sexual abuse and child sexual assault awareness and 10 prevention curriculum used in the student’s grade level and the 11 procedure for inspecting the instructional materials. 12 3. A student enrolled in kindergarten through grade six in 13 a school district or an accredited nonpublic school shall not 14 be required to participate in the instruction related to child 15 sexual abuse and child sexual assault awareness and prevention 16 if the student’s parent or guardian files with the appropriate 17 administrator a written request that the student be excused 18 from the instruction.
