Section 414.7, subsection 2, Code 2026, is 3 amended to read as follows: 4 2. The council may provide for review of variances granted 5 by the board of adjustment by the council before the effective 6 date of the variances. Any individual affected by the variance 7 may appeal the decision of the board of adjustment to the 8 city council within sixty days and the effective date of the 9 variance shall be stayed until after the council has reviewed 10 the appeal. The council may remand a decision to grant a 11 variance to the board of adjustment for further study. The 12 effective date of the variance is delayed for thirty days from 13 the date of the remand. The city council may also overturn 14 the decision of the board of adjustment by a vote of at least 15 two-thirds of all members of the council, regardless of whether 16 an appeal has been brought. > 17 2.
