Page 8, after line 32 by inserting: 4 < NEW SUBSECTION . 11. a. For the magistrate term commencing 5 August 1, 2027, the judicial election district magistrate 6 appointing commission shall give priority to an applicant who 7 served or is serving as a magistrate for the term immediately 8 preceding August 1, 2027. 9 (1) If the number of vacancies in the judicial election 10 district equals or exceeds the number of prioritized 11 applicants, the commission shall appoint all prioritized 12 applicants. 13 (2) If the number of vacancies in the judicial election 14 district is less than the number of prioritized applicants, the 15 commission shall appoint only prioritized applicants. 16 b.
