Section 2.40, subsection 1, paragraph a, 3 subparagraph (2), Code 2026, is amended to read as follows: 4 (2) (a) The member shall pay that portion of the total 5 premium for the plan selected on the same basis as paid by the 6 largest number of full-time state employees of the executive 7 branch, other than employees of the state board of regents, 8 that are excluded from collective bargaining as provided in 9 chapter 20 , except the portion of the total premium paid by 10 a member of the general assembly shall be three and one-half 11 percent greater than the portion of the premium paid by the 12 full-time state employees of the executive branch . 13 (b) Commencing with the fiscal year beginning July 1, 14 2026, and each fiscal year thereafter, an amount equal to the 15 additional three and one-half percent of premiums paid by 16 members of the general assembly as described in subparagraph 17 division (a) during each fiscal year shall be deposited into 18 the medical assistance fund of the department of health and 19 human services. > 20 2.
