House File 2690 H-8205 Amend House File 2690 as follows: 1 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause and 2 inserting: 3 < Section 1. Section 423.3, subsection 95, paragraph b, 4 subparagraph (5), Code 2026, is amended to read as follows: 5 (5) The data center business shall register with the 6 department as a data center business. To maintain its 7 registration, the data center business shall file an annual 8 report with the department , by January 31, 2026, and by each 9 January March 31 thereafter each year . The annual report shall 10 describe the backup power generation fuel and electricity 11 purchased in the previous calendar year for the purposes 12 described in paragraph “a” , subparagraphs (2) and (3), and any 13 other information the department requires. The annual report 14 shall also include the water withdrawals from the previous 15 calendar year and the data center business’s water source. 16 Sec. 2. Section 423.3, subsection 95, paragraph b, Code 17 2026, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 18 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (06) On July 1, 2026, and by each July 19 1 thereafter, the department shall compile the information 20 received under subparagraph (5) and shall publish an annual 21 summary of the information that is aggregated and anonymized 22 by county and that does not identify any individual reporting 23 entity. > 24 2.
