Section 257.11, Code 2026, is amended by adding 3 the following new subsections: 4 NEW SUBSECTION . 4. The department may authorize the 5 recipient of a grant awarded pursuant to this section to 6 deposit all or a portion of the grant award into a protected 7 investment or endowment account. The principal shall not be 8 expended. Dividends and interest earnings may be expended for 9 career academy program development and sustainability. 10 NEW SUBSECTION . 5.
