amended
to
read

follows:

Foster
parent
training.

1.
a.
As
a
condition
for
initial
licensure,
each
proposed
7
individual
licensee
shall
complete
thirty
hours
of
foster
8
parent
training
offered
or
approved
by
the
department.
9
However,
if
When
determining
the
appropriate
foster
parent
10
training
for
a
proposed
individual
licensee,
the
department
11
shall
consider
the
proposed
individual
licensee
has
completed
12
relevant
training
or
has
a
combination
of
completed
licensee’s
13
relevant
training
and
experience
,
and
the
department
deems
such
14
training
or
combination
to
be
an
acceptable
equivalent
to
all
15
or
a
portion
of
the
initial
licensure
training
requirement,
or
16
based
upon
the
.
In
addition,
the
department
shall
consider
the
17
circumstances
of
the
child
who
will
receive
child
foster
care
18
from
the
proposed
individual
licensee
and
the
circumstances
of
19
the
proposed
individual
licensee
the
department
finds
there
is
20
other
good
cause,
the
department
may
waive
all
or
a
portion
of
21
the
training
requirement
.

Prior
to
renewal
of
licensure,
each
individual
licensee
23
shall
annually
complete
six
hours
of
foster
parent
training

as
determined
appropriate
for
the
individual
licensee
by
the

department
.
The
training

limited
to
physical
care,
education,
learning
disabilities,

referral
to

receipt
of
necessary
professional
services,

assessment
and
modification,
self-assessment,

licensee

all
of
the
following:

overview

supporting

family

person
may
complete
the
training
required
under
this

section
as
part
of
an
approved
training
program
offered
by
a

public

private
agency

the

foster
care
or

subject

The
department

shall
adopt
rules
to
implement
and
enforce
this
training
8
requirement.

An
individual
licensee
who
is
unable
to
complete
six
10
hours
of
foster
parent
training
annually
prior
to
licensure
11
renewal
required
under
subsection
1,
paragraph
“b”
,
because
the
12
individual
licensee
is
engaged
in
active
duty
in
the
military
13
service
shall
be
considered
to
be
in
compliance
with
the
14
training
requirement
for
licensure
renewal.

5.
The
department
or
the
department’s
agent
shall
16
notify
an
individual
licensee
within
a
reasonable
amount
of
17
time
of
any
training
the
department
believes
would
benefit
the
18
individual
licensee
in
the
provision
of
child
foster
care.
19
6.
The
department
shall
adopt
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
17A
20
to
implement
and
enforce
this
section.
