House File 980 H-1319 Amend House File 980 as follows: 1 1. Page 1, after line 19 by inserting: 2 < Sec. ___. Section 96.4, subsection 6, paragraph a, Code 3 2025, is amended to read as follows: 4 a. An otherwise eligible individual shall not be denied 5 benefits for any week because the individual is in training 6 with the approval of the director or in apprenticeship training 7 with the approval of the individual’s employer , nor shall 8 the individual be denied benefits with respect to any week 9 in which the individual is in training with the approval of 10 the director by reason of the application of the provision in 11 subsection 3 of this section relating to availability for work, 12 and an active search for work or the provision of section 96.5, 13 subsection 3 , relating to failure to apply for or a refusal to 14 accept suitable work.
