This subsection Paragraph “a” does not apply to a any 6 of the following: 7 (1) A person who operates a motor vehicle owned or leased 8 by a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency if the 9 operation is part of the person’s official duties. 10 (2) A person who operates a motor vehicle in compliance with 11 this subparagraph while possessing, or transporting a passenger 12 who possesses, an affidavit signed by a physician licensed 13 under chapter 148, a chiropractor licensed under chapter 151, 14 or an optometrist licensed under chapter 154 stating that the 15 person or passenger has a medical condition involving extreme 16 sensitivity to light that makes it necessary for a motor 17 vehicle to be equipped with a front windshield, side window, or 18 sidewing that does not meet the minimum measurable standard of 19 transparency established in paragraph “a” . 20 (a) The person or passenger shall carry a copy of the 21 affidavit in the motor vehicle at all times. 22 (b) The person shall not operate on the highway a motor 23 vehicle equipped with a front windshield, a side window to the 24 immediate right or left of the driver, or a sidewing forward 25 of and to the left or right of the driver which does not meet a 26 minimum standard of transparency of thirty-five percent light 27 transmittance. > 28 3.
