Section 257.11, subsection 5, paragraph d, Code 3 2025, is amended to read as follows: 4 d. (1) Supplementary weighting pursuant to this subsection 5 shall be available to a school district during the period 6 commencing with the budget year beginning July 1, 2014, through 7 the budget year beginning July 1, 2034. The maximum amount 8 of additional weighting for which a school district shall be 9 eligible in a budget year is twenty-one additional pupils; 10 provided, however, that for budget years beginning on or after 11 July 1, 2024, the supplementary weighting assigned for a shared 12 operational function in the area of a college and career 13 transition counselor or coordinator shall not count toward this 14 the maximum amount established pursuant to this subparagraph . 15 Criteria for determining the qualification of operational 16 functions for supplementary weighting shall be determined by 17 the department by rule, through consideration of increased 18 student opportunities. 19 (2) Notwithstanding subparagraph (1), for budget years 20 beginning on or after July 1, 2025, if a school district shares 21 an operational function in the area of a school resource 22 officer, then the maximum amount of additional weighting for 23 which the school district shall be eligible in a budget year is 24 twenty-three additional pupils. > 25 2.
