Senate File 2385 S-5137 Amend the amendment, S-5132, to Senate File 2385, as 1 follows: 2 1. Page 6, by striking lines 8 through 14 and inserting: 3 < Sec. ___. Section 542B.20, subsection 1, Code 2024, is 4 amended to read as follows: 5 1. a. A person holding a certificate of licensure as a 6 professional engineer or professional land surveyor issued to 7 the person by a proper authority of a state, territory, or 8 possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, 9 or of any foreign country, based on requirements and 10 qualifications, in the opinion of the board equal to or higher 11 than the requirements of this chapter , may be licensed without 12 further examination , except as provided in paragraph “b” . 13 b. A person shall not be licensed as a professional 14 land surveyor under this subsection unless the person 15 passes an examination specific to the laws of this state. 16 Notwithstanding section 272C.12, subsection 3, paragraph 17 “c” , a person shall not be issued a temporary license as a 18 professional land surveyor. 19 Sec. ___. TRANSITION PROVISIONS. 20 1. A temporary license to practice professional land 21 surveying issued pursuant to section 272C.12, subsection 3, 22 paragraph “c”, prior to the effective date of this division 23 of this Act shall continue in full force and effect until 24 expiration or until suspension or revocation by the engineering 25 and land surveying examining board pursuant to section 542B.21. 26 2. A license issued to a professional land surveyor pursuant 27 to section 542B.20, Code 2024, prior to the effective date of 28 this division of this Act shall continue in full force and 29 effect until expiration or until suspension or revocation by 30 the engineering and land surveying examining board pursuant to 31 section 542B.21. > 32 2.
