Page 10, after line 29 by inserting: 13 < Sec. ___. Section 92.20, Code 2023, is amended by adding 14 the following new subsection: 15 NEW SUBSECTION . 2A. A person determined to be a sexually 16 violent predator pursuant to section 229A.7, a person required 17 to register as a sex offender under chapter 692A, or a person 18 determined to be a sexually violent predator or required to 19 register as a sex offender pursuant to similar laws of another 20 state, shall not employ a person under eighteen years of age 21 in this state. > 22 6. (1) Employ a person under eighteen years of age in the 24 sale or serving of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the 25 premises where sold. 26 (2) This paragraph shall not apply if the employer has on 27 file written permission from the parent, guardian, or legal 28 custodian of a person sixteen or seventeen years of age for the 29 person to sell or serve alcoholic beverages for consumption 30 on the premises where sold. However, a person sixteen or 31 seventeen years of age shall not work in a bar as defined 32 in section 142D.2. alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises where 1 sold. If written permission is on file in accordance with this 2 paragraph, a person sixteen or seventeen years of age may sell 3 or serve alcoholic beverages in a restaurant as defined in 4 section 142D.2 during the hours in which the restaurant serves 5 food. 6 (3) A person sixteen or seventeen years of age shall not 7 sell or serve alcoholic beverages under this paragraph unless 8 at least two employees eighteen years of age or older are 9 physically present in the area where alcoholic beverages are 10 sold or served. 11 (4) If a person employed under this paragraph reports an 12 incident of workplace harassment to the employer or if the 13 employer otherwise becomes aware of such an incident, the 14 employer shall report the incident to the employee’s parent, 15 guardian, or legal custodian and to the Iowa civil rights 16 commission, which shall determine if any action is necessary or 17 appropriate under chapter 216. 18 (5) An employer that employs a person under this paragraph 19 shall require the person to attend training on prevention and 20 response to sexual harassment upon commencing employment. 21 (6) Prior to a person commencing employment under this 22 paragraph, the employer shall notify the employer’s dramshop 23 liability insurer, in a form and time period prescribed by the 24 director, that the employer is employing a person under this 25 paragraph. > 26 7.
