Women’s
sports
plates.

a.
Upon
application
and
payment
of
the
proper
fees,
the

director
may
issue
women’s
sports
plates
to
the
owner
of
a
7
motor
vehicle
subject
to
registration
under
section
321.109,
8
subsection
1,
autocycle,
motor
truck,
motor
home,
multipurpose
9
vehicle,
motorcycle,
trailer,
or
travel
trailer.

b.
Women’s
sports
plates
shall
be
designed
by
the
11
department.
The
background
shall
be
white
and
the
plate’s
12
numbers
and
letters
shall
be
black.
The
left
side
of
the
13
plate
shall
depict
the
letters
“WSF”
and
the
women’s
sports
14
foundation
logo.
The
phrase
“Protect
Women’s
Sports”
shall
15
appear
at
the
bottom
of
the
plate.

c.
The
special
women’s
sports
fee
for
letter-number
17
designated
women’s
sports
plates
is
thirty-five
dollars.
An
18
applicant
may
obtain
personalized
women’s
sports
plates
upon
19
payment
of
the
fee
for
personalized
plates
as
provided
in
20
subsection
5,
which
is
in
addition
to
the
special
women’s
21
sports
fee.
Personalized
plates
authorized
by
this
subsection
22
shall
be
limited
to
no
more
than
five
numerals,
letters,
or
23
combinations
of
numerals
and
letters.

d.
The
fees
collected
by
the
director
under
this
subsection
25
shall
be
paid
monthly
to
the
treasurer
of
state
and
deposited
26
in
the
road
use
tax
fund.
The
treasurer
of
state
shall
27
transfer
monthly
from
the
statutory
allocations
fund
created
28
under
section
321.145,
subsection
2,
to
the
general
fund
of
the
29
state
the
amount
of
the
special
fees
collected
in
the
previous
30
month
for
women’s
sports
plates.
Such
moneys
are
appropriated
31
to
the
department
of
health
and
human
services
to
distribute
32
in
the
form
of
grants
to
the
women's
sports
foundation.
33
Notwithstanding
section
8.33,
moneys
appropriated
under
this
34
subsection
shall
not
revert
to
the
general
fund
of
the
state.

e.
Upon
receipt
of
the
special
registration
plates,
the

applicant
shall
surrender
the
current
registration
plates
to
2
the
county
treasurer.
The
county
treasurer
shall
validate

the
special
registration
plates
in
the
same
manner
as
regular
4
registration
plates
are
validated
under
this
section.
The
5
annual
special
women’s
sports
fee
for
letter-number
designated
6
plates
is
ten
dollars
which
shall
be
paid
in
addition
to
7
the
regular
annual
registration
fee.
The
annual
fee
for
8
personalized
women’s
sports
plates
is
five
dollars
which
9
shall
be
paid
in
addition
to
the
annual
special
IVF
awareness
10
fee
and
the
regular
annual
registration
fee.
The
annual
11
special
women’s
sports
fee
shall
be
credited
as
provided
under
12
paragraph
“d”
.

f.
The
department
shall
not
condition
the
issuance
of
14
women’s
sports
plates
on
the
receipt
of
any
number
of
orders
15
for
women’s
sports
plates.
