OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates.

a.
Upon
application
and
payment
of
the
proper
fees,
the
6
director
may
issue
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates
to
the
7
owner
of
a
motor
vehicle
subject
to
registration
under
section
8
321.109,
subsection
1,
autocycle,
motor
truck,
motor
home,
9
multipurpose
vehicle,
motorcycle,
trailer,
or
travel
trailer.

b.
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates
shall
be
designed
by
11
the
department.
The
background
shall
be
white
and
the
plate’s
12
numbers
and
letters
shall
be
blue.
The
left
side
of
the
plate
13
shall
depict
a
blue
circle
with
a
heart-shaped
stethoscope
14
listening
to
a
pregnant
belly
inside
the
circle.
15
c.
The
special
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
fee
for
16
letter-number
designated
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates
is
17
thirty-five
dollars.
An
applicant
may
obtain
personalized
18
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates
upon
payment
of
the
fee
for
19
personalized
plates
as
provided
in
subsection
5,
which
is
20
in
addition
to
the
special
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
fee.
21
Personalized
plates
authorized
by
this
subsection
shall
be
22
limited
to
no
more
than
five
numerals,
letters,
or
combinations
23
of
numerals
and
letters.
24
d.
The
fees
collected
by
the
director
under
this
subsection
25
shall
be
paid
monthly
to
the
treasurer
of
state
and
deposited
26
in
the
road
use
tax
fund.
The
treasurer
of
state
shall
27
transfer
monthly
from
the
statutory
allocations
fund
created
28
under
section
321.145,
subsection
2,
to
the
general
fund
of
the
29
state
the
amount
of
the
special
fees
collected
in
the
previous
30
month
for
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates.
Such
moneys
are
31
appropriated
to
the
department
of
health
and
human
services
32
to
distribute
in
the
form
of
grants
to
support
pregnant
women
33
in
this
state.
In
the
awarding
of
grants,
the
department
34
of
health
and
human
services
shall
give
first
consideration

planned
parenthood,
and
other
similar
organizations.

Notwithstanding
section
8.33,
moneys
appropriated
under
this
2
subsection
shall
not
revert
to
the
general
fund
of
the
state.

e.
Upon
receipt
of
the
special
registration
plates,
the
4
applicant
shall
surrender
the
current
registration
plates
to
5
the
county
treasurer.
The
county
treasurer
shall
validate
6
the
special
registration
plates
in
the
same
manner
as
regular
7
registration
plates
are
validated
under
this
section.
The
8
annual
special
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
fee
for
letter-number
9
designated
plates
is
ten
dollars
which
shall
be
paid
in
10
addition
to
the
regular
annual
registration
fee.
The
annual
11
fee
for
personalized
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates
is
12
five
dollars
which
shall
be
paid
in
addition
to
the
annual
13
special
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
fee
and
the
regular
annual
14
registration
fee.
The
annual
special
OB/GYN
and
maternal
15
health
fee
shall
be
credited
as
provided
under
paragraph
“d”
.

f.
The
department
shall
not
condition
the
issuance
of
OB/GYN
17
and
maternal
health
plates
on
the
receipt
of
any
number
of
18
orders
for
OB/GYN
and
maternal
health
plates.
