Jesus
plates.

a.
Upon
application
and
payment
of
the
proper
fees,
the

director
may
issue
Jesus
plates
to
the
owner
of
a
motor
vehicle
7
subject
to
registration
under
section
321.109,
subsection
1,
8
autocycle,
motor
truck,
motor
home,
multipurpose
vehicle,
9
motorcycle,
trailer,
or
travel
trailer.

b.
Jesus
plates
shall
be
designed
by
the
department.
The
11
background
shall
be
white
at
the
top
and
fade
to
blue
at
the
12
bottom.
The
plate’s
numbers
and
letters
shall
be
dark
blue.
13
The
left
side
of
the
plate
shall
include
the
letters
“WWJD”
14
printed
vertically.

c.
The
special
Jesus
fee
for
letter-number
designated
16
Jesus
plates
is
thirty-five
dollars.
An
applicant
may
17
obtain
personalized
Jesus
plates
upon
payment
of
the
fee
for
18
personalized
plates
as
provided
in
subsection
5,
which
is
in
19
addition
to
the
special
Jesus
fee.

d.
The
fees
collected
by
the
director
under
this
subsection
21
shall
be
paid
monthly
to
the
treasurer
of
state
and
deposited
22
in
the
road
use
tax
fund.
The
treasurer
of
state
shall
23
transfer
monthly
from
the
statutory
allocations
fund
created
24
under
section
321.145,
subsection
2,
to
the
general
fund
of
the
25
state
the
amount
of
the
special
fees
collected
in
the
previous
26
month
for
Jesus
plates.
Such
moneys
are
appropriated
to
the
27
department
of
health
and
human
services
to
distribute
in
the
28
form
of
grants
to
organizations
supporting
and
affirming
the
29
shared
principles
of
interfaith
community.
In
the
awarding
30
of
grants,
the
department
of
health
and
human
services
shall
31
give
first
consideration
to
any
official
state
association
of
32
the
interfaith
alliance
and
similar
nonprofit
organizations.
33
Notwithstanding
section
8.33,
moneys
appropriated
under
this
34
subsection
shall
not
revert
to
the
general
fund
of
the
state.

Upon
receipt
of
the
special
registration
plates,
the

applicant
shall
surrender
the
current
registration
plates
to

the
county
treasurer.
The
county
treasurer
shall
validate

the
special
registration
plates
in
the
same
manner
as
regular

registration
plates
are
validated
under
this
section.
The
5
annual
special
Jesus
fee
for
letter-number
designated
plates
6
is
ten
dollars
which
shall
be
paid
in
addition
to
the
regular
7
annual
registration
fee.
The
annual
fee
for
personalized
Jesus
8
plates
is
five
dollars
which
shall
be
paid
in
addition
to
the
9
annual
special
Jesus
fee
and
the
regular
annual
registration
10
fee.
The
annual
special
Jesus
fee
shall
be
credited
as
11
provided
under
paragraph
“d”
.

The
department
shall
not
condition
the
issuance
of
13
Jesus
plates
on
the
receipt
of
any
number
of
orders
for
Jesus

plates.
