Section 13.2, subsection 1, Code 2022, is 3 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 4 NEW PARAGRAPH . p. Submit a report by January 15 of each 5 year to the co-chairpersons and ranking members of the joint 6 appropriations subcommittee on the justice system detailing any 7 moneys paid to the state as a result of a national settlement 8 of litigation with entities that manufactured, marketed, sold, 9 distributed, dispensed, or promoted opioids. The report shall 10 include the total amount of moneys received each year from the 11 settlement of litigation, the current balance of any funds 12 maintained for the receipt of opioid settlement moneys, and how 13 any moneys received were spent during the prior report period. 14 Sec. ___. Section 135.190, subsection 1, paragraph d, Code 15 2022, is amended to read as follows: 16 d. “Person in a position to assist” means a family member, 17 friend, caregiver, health care provider, employee of a 18 substance abuse treatment facility, school employee, or other 19 person who may be in a place to render aid to a person at risk 20 of experiencing an opioid-related overdose. 21 Sec. ___. Section 135.190, Code 2022, is amended by adding 22 the following new subsection: 23 NEW SUBSECTION . 4A. A school district may obtain a valid 24 prescription for an opioid antagonist and maintain a supply of 25 opioid antagonists in a secure location at each location where 26 a student may be present for use as provided in this section. > 27 2.
