DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES —— MOBILE CRISIS 4 RESPONSE SERVICES —— APPROPRIATION. There is appropriated 5 from the general fund of the state to the department of human 6 services for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending 7 June 30, 2022, the following amount, or so much thereof as is 8 necessary, to be used for the purposes designated: 9 For mobile crisis response services provided in mental 10 health and disability services regions established under 11 section 331.389: 12 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 2,100,000 13 Moneys appropriated in this section shall be used by mental 14 health and disability services regions for the purpose of 15 funding mobile crisis response services provided in mental 16 health and disability services regions in order to allow a 17 region’s mobile crisis response units to respond to situations 18 where a person is experiencing a mental health crisis, provide 19 triage to a person experiencing a mental health crisis in the 20 field, and transport a person experiencing a mental health 21 crisis to an appropriate facility. 22 As a condition of receiving moneys appropriated in this 23 section, persons providing mobile crisis response services 24 shall be licensed social workers or, at a minimum, have 25 training specifically in de-escalating situations where a 26 person is experiencing a serious mental health crisis and in 27 triage protocols. > 28 2.
