LAW

PERSONNEL
STUDY.

1.
The
department
of
natural
resources
shall
establish
a
law
6
enforcement
personnel
working
group
to
study
issues
involving
7
the
use
of
full-time
officers
of
the
department
appointed
8
pursuant
to
section
456A.13
as
full-time
officers,
other
9
than
supervisory
personnel,
and
who
have
the
same
powers
as
10
conferred
on
peace
officers
for
the
enforcement
of
laws
in
this
11
state.
The
working
group
shall
consider
issues
regarding
the
12
most
effective
and
efficient
use
of
such
full-time
officers,
13
including
their
position
classification
as
park
ranger
or
14
conservation
officer.
15
2.
The
members
of
the
working
group
shall
include
all
of
the
16
following:
17
a.
The
director
of
the
department
of
natural
resources,
or
a
18
designee
of
the
director.
19
b.
Full-time
employees
of
the
department
of
natural
20
resources
appointed
by
the
director
who
are
affected
by
the
21
issues
considered
by
the
working
group.
22
c.
Four
members
of
the
general
assembly,
who
shall
serve
23
as
nonvoting,
ex
officio
members,
with
two
from
the
senate
and
24
two
from
the
house
of
representatives
and
not
more
than
one
25
member
from
each
chamber
being
from
the
same
political
party.
26
The
two
senators
shall
be
designated
one
member
each
by
the
27
president
of
the
senate,
after
consultation
with
the
majority
28
leader
of
the
senate,
and
by
the
minority
leader
of
the
senate.
29
The
two
representatives
shall
be
designated
one
member
each
by
30
the
speaker
of
the
house
of
representatives,
after
consultation
31
with
the
majority
leader
of
the
house
of
representatives,
and
32
by
the
minority
leader
of
the
house
of
representatives.

d.
Staffing
services
shall
be
provided
by
the
department
of

natural
resources.
