Section 483A.8, subsection 3, paragraph c, Code 3 2022, is amended to read as follows: 4 c. (1) The commission shall annually limit to six thousand 5 the number of nonresidents allowed to have antlered or any 6 sex deer hunting licenses. Of the six thousand nonresident 7 antlered or any sex deer hunting licenses issued, fifty of the 8 licenses shall be reserved for nonresidents who have made a 9 reservation with a nonprofit organization that hosts guided 10 hunting services for veterans of the armed forces of the 11 United States. A nonresident may only receive one antlered 12 or any sex deer hunting license under this subparagraph. If 13 fewer than fifty nonresidents apply for a reserved license by 14 the application deadline set by the commission by rule, any 15 license not issued shall be made available for purchase at the 16 same time and in the same manner as other excess nonresident 17 antlered or any sex deer hunting licenses. Not more than 18 thirty-five percent of the issued reserved licenses shall be 19 bow season licenses. The nonresident applying for a reserved 20 license shall provide with the license application evidence 21 that the nonresident has a reservation with an eligible hunting 22 guide service that is scheduled during a period in which the 23 license is valid. Of the six thousand remaining nonresident 24 antlered or any sex deer hunting licenses issued, not more 25 than thirty-five percent of the licenses shall be bow season 26 licenses. 27 (2) After the six thousand antlered or any sex nonresident 28 deer hunting licenses have been issued, all additional licenses 29 shall be issued for antlerless deer only. The commission 30 shall annually determine the number of nonresident antlerless 31 deer only deer hunting licenses that will be available for 32 issuance. > 33 2.
