Page 5, after line 7 by inserting: 10 < Sec. ___. NEW SECTION . 279.78 Parent or guardian reporting 11 requirements. 12 1. The general assembly finds that education should be 13 a partnership between parents or guardians and teachers. 14 Students spend only thirty-three out of one hundred sixty-eight 15 hours each week in school, and as a result, a student’s 16 life at home and outside of school has as much if not more 17 of an influence on the overall well-being of a student than 18 anything that happens in school. Accordingly, the general 19 assembly finds that it has reasons to be concerned about the 20 appropriateness of what each student is learning outside of 21 school. 22 2. The parent or guardian of each student enrolled in 23 a school district shall, at least once per week during the 24 school year, provide each teacher responsible for the student’s 25 education with all of the following information: 26 a. If a parent or guardian fails to provide the information 21 described in subsection 2 within the timelines provided in 22 subsection 2, the board of directors of a school district shall 23 notify the parent or guardian of the parent’s or guardian’s 24 noncompliance with this section by telephone, and the board 25 of directors of a school district may request a meeting with 26 the parent or guardian to discuss the parent’s or guardian’s 27 noncompliance with this section. > 28 3.
