Section 261.87, subsection 1, paragraph d, 3 subparagraphs (1), (2), (3), and (4), Code 2021, are amended 4 to read as follows: 5 (1) Is the child or stepchild of a peace officer, as 6 defined in section 97A.1 , who was killed in the line of duty 7 as determined by the board of trustees of the Iowa department 8 of public safety peace officers’ retirement, accident, and 9 disability system in accordance with section 97A.6, subsection 10 16 . 11 (2) Is the child or stepchild of a police officer or a fire 12 fighter, as each is defined in section 411.1 , who was killed in 13 the line of duty as determined by the statewide fire and police 14 retirement system in accordance with section 411.6, subsection 15 15 . 16 (3) Is the child or stepchild of a sheriff or deputy sheriff 17 as each is defined in section 97B.49C , who was killed in 18 the line of duty as determined by the Iowa public employees’ 19 retirement system in accordance with section 97B.52, subsection 20 2 . 21 (4) Is the child or stepchild of a fire fighter or police 22 officer included under section 97B.49B , who was killed in 23 the line of duty as determined by the Iowa public employees’ 24 retirement system in accordance with section 97B.52, subsection 25 2 . 26 Sec. ___. Section 261.87, subsection 1, paragraph d, Code 27 2021, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 28 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH .
