House File 754 H-1200 Amend House File 754 as follows: 1 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause and 2 inserting: 3 < Section 1. IOWA EVICTION AND FORECLOSURE PREVENTION 4 PROGRAM. 5 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of the state 6 to the Iowa finance authority for the fiscal year beginning 7 July 1, 2020, and ending June 30, 2021, the following amount, 8 or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purposes 9 designated: 10 For the Iowa eviction and foreclosure prevention program: 11 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 50,000,000 12 The Iowa eviction and foreclosure prevention program shall 13 be extended through June 30, 2022. 14 2. Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated in 15 this section that remain unencumbered or unobligated at the 16 close of the fiscal year shall not revert but shall remain 17 available for expenditure for the purposes designated until the 18 close of the succeeding fiscal year. 19 Sec. 2. TEMPORARY HALT ON RESIDENTIAL EVICTIONS. The 20 temporary halt in residential evictions to prevent the further 21 spread of COVID-19 as ordered by the centers for disease 22 control of the United States department of health and human 23 services on September 4, 2020, and as extended until January 24 31, 2021, by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, Pub. L. 25 No. 116-260, ยง502, shall continue to be applied to residential 26 evictions in this state through January 31, 2022. 27 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 28 importance, takes effect upon enactment. > 29 2.
